Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of heating on total alkaloids in rhynchphylla. Methods HPLC was employed to determine rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline in total alkaloids among various conditions. Results Comparing with rhynchophylline, isorhynchophylline was unstable to heating. Heated in 60 ℃ and 90 ℃ for 2 hours, isorhynchophylline content decreased more than 38% and 50%, respectively. But rhynchophylline solution was stable in 60 ℃ for 2 hours and 4 ℃ for 6 days. In addition, rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline were more stable in salt formation. Conclusion Isorhynchophylline was unstable to heating, which was the reason for rhynchophylla to given later.in decoct herbal medicine.
