Progress on pharmacological activities and production methods of citrulline

  • Citrulline was more and more widely used in food and drug industry, health products industry and cosmetics industry because of it's particular pharmacological effects. At present, there were four main methods for producing citrulline: chemical method, extraction method, enzymatic and fermentation method. The pharmacological effects, the application and research current situation about citrulline were summarized in home and abroad. The development prospects of citrulline were predicted.
