  • Objective To study the chemical constituents of Cirsium segestum. Methods Multi-chromatographic Methods including Silica gel column chromatography and Sephadex LH-20 gel permeation were employed for the isolation and purification.The structures were identified on the basis of chemical evidence and spectral data. Results Five compounds were isolated and identified as Caffeic acid(Ⅰ),Chlorogenic acid(Ⅱ),Baicalin(Ⅲ),stigmasterol 3-O-glucopyranoside(Ⅳ),5,8,4'-trihydroxy-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅴ). Conclusion compounds Ⅳ and Ⅴwere isolated from Cirsium segestum for the first time.
