Preparation and quality control of metronidazole cream

Abstract: Objective To prepare metronidazole cream and establish quality control standard. Methods The cream was prepared by taking metronidazole as main components. The contents of metronidazole was determined by UV spectrometry. Results The average recovery of metronidazole was 100.2%, RSD was 1.7%. Conclusion The cream can be prepare feasibly. The method of quality control is simple,rapid and accurate.
