  • OBJECTIVE To prepare fluconazole sustained release tablets for the use of vagina.METHODS The release rate was used to evaluate the formulation of the core tablet by orthogonal design. The tableting pressure and rate of dissolution rotation paddle were investigated for the effect on the sustained tablet.RESULTS FCZ 50mg,Carbopol 100mg,MCC 150mg,HPMC 90mg and starch 210mg would produce desirable sustained tablet.CONCLUSION Fluconazole sustained release tablets can be prepared for mycotic infection in vagina.
