Determination of norvancomycin in cerebrospinal fluid by HPLC

  • OBJECTIVE To establish a HPLC method for the determination of norvancomycin in cerebrospinal fluid.METHODS With tinidazole as the internal standard, the content of norvancomycin was assayed on a ODS-hypersil C18 column with a mobile phase composed of methanol-phosphate buffer solution(16:84,pH=5.0). The detection wavelength was 280nm.RESULTS Concentration compared with the peak area ratio, the linearity was obtained over the range of 1～60 μg.ml-1 (r=0.9993).The average recovery was 98.70%±2.65% and the intra-day and the inter-day RSD were within 1.73%～1.95% and 3.62～6.78% respectively.
