2011, 29(6): 416-420,425.
Abstract(3472)
Abstract:
Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) was a systemic autoimmune disease, and known to cause continuous pain, recurrent process, and high rate of disability. It was a kind of diseases which was difficult to cure. Currently, the drug treatment, such as, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), hormone drugs, and biological agents, cost too much and produce side effects after long-term utility, which limit their application. Because of the advantages of better efficacy and less side effects, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) had been widely used for the treatment of RA. Recent progresses in the research of TCM treatment and clinical application of RA were reviewed in this paper.

2011, 29(6): 431-434.
Abstract(2952)
Abstract:
Objective To observe the hemostasis effect of carbonized hair. Methods The coagulation time was measured in vitro with blood collected from rabbits in the presence of blank, starch, carbonized hair or Yunnan White Drug-Powder respectively. Bama miniature pigs traumatic model was established and animal haemostatic experiment was performed.Hemostatic effect was observed in liver, spleen and femoral arteriovenous fistula hemorrhagic model of Bama miniature pigs. Results The coagulation time of rabbit blood was markedly shorter by addition of carbonized hair compared to Yunnan White Drug-Powder, starch and blank (P<0.05,P<0.01).Compare with the starch group, carbonized hair could significantly shorten the bleeding time and decrease the volume of bleeding (P<0.01), in the liver and spleen of hemorrhagic model of Bama miniature pigs. Compared with the Yunnan White Drug-Powder and the starch, carbonized hair could more effectively stop the femoral arteriovenous fistula bleeding in the model of Bama miniature pigs (P<0.05,P<0.01). Histologic study revealed there was no significant pathological change around the femoral artery. Conclution Carbonized hair could effectively inhibit blood coagulation in vitro, decrease bleeding volume and bleeding time in the liver and spleen of hemorrhagic model of Bama miniature pigs. Carbonized hair dressing could also effectively control hemorrhage in femoral arteriovenous fistula model with lethal vascular injury.

Abstract(3394)
Abstract:
Objective To study the protective effects of planting Dendrobii caulis and tissue culture planting Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo on glutamate damage induced in cultured SH-SY5Y cells. Methods The sera were obtained from rats by using the serum pharmacology method, and cell damage model was established by treating SH-SY5Y cells with glutamate. the proliferation of damaged cells were observed by 72 h. MTT assay was used to test lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), malondialde-1yde(MDA)and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the culture medium. Results Both planting and tissue culture Dendrobii caulis could promote the cell proliferation of glutamate damaged SH-SY5Y cells. They also could decrease LDH and MDA content and increase SOD level significantly. Tissue cultured Dendrobii caulis preceded planting ones in antioxidant potential. Conclusion Dendrobii caulis had protective effect on glutamate damaged SH-SY5Y cells. The protective effect of tissue culture one, while, was more distinctive than planting one, which could prove that officinal effect of tissue culture Dendrobium huoshanense was preceded to Dendrobium plants.

Abstract(3013)
Abstract:
Objective To investigate the effect of heating on total alkaloids in rhynchphylla. Methods HPLC was employed to determine rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline in total alkaloids among various conditions. Results Comparing with rhynchophylline, isorhynchophylline was unstable to heating. Heated in 60 ℃ and 90 ℃ for 2 hours, isorhynchophylline content decreased more than 38% and 50%, respectively. But rhynchophylline solution was stable in 60 ℃ for 2 hours and 4 ℃ for 6 days. In addition, rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline were more stable in salt formation. Conclusion Isorhynchophylline was unstable to heating, which was the reason for rhynchophylla to given later.in decoct herbal medicine.
