Working pattern for rationality checking of the orders in pharmacy intravenous admixture center

Abstract: Objective To describe the work pattern for rationality checking of the orders in Pharmacy intravenous admixture center. Methods Irrational orders checked from Jan. to Oct. in 2011 were analyzed to evaluate the rationality and practicability of the normalized work pattern for real-time checking the rationality of drug use. Results The process of real-time checking and interfering the irrational orders was set up. The order checking was carried out by assigned people, the omission mistake was avoided in checking irrational orders and the rationality of orders was improved, the communication with doctors and nurses was strengthened. Conclusions The establishment of work pattern for real-time checking and interfering of the irrational orders consistent with the standard of hospital supplied a standardized and normalized method for the checking of rational drug use.
