  • Objective To introduce the development on the constituents and pharmacology of traditional Chinese medicine Zan-thoxylum nitidum. Methods The correlated literature at home and abroad was reviewed. Result and Conclusion Various types of alkaloids have been isolatecd from Zanthoxylum nitidum and they are all of high content. The effective constitutes of antitumor and analgesia have been convinced. Due to the antitumor activity of the alkaloids and relaxation pain of cancer of crystal-8, Zanthoxylum nitidum has high value in the research of cancer therapy.
